The awards ceremony at the Inside World Festival of Interiors will be held in October at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Hotel, designed by Safdie Architects. The finalists in the contest were announced recently.
60 projects built in the past twelve months in 21 different countries have been shortlisted for the prize. The projects are divided into 9 categories on the basis of the type of interior designed: schools, airports, offices, hotels, bars/restaurants, shops, public spaces and transportation, homes.
There are also renovation projects and new designs for existing spaces, such as a project by MAKE Architects for construction of a new escalator for the famous Harrods store in London, to replace the old escalator dating back to 1920, or another project in London, the new interior design for Christopher’s restaurant in Covent Garden by De Matos Ryan.
The finalists in the shops category include the Just Cavalli showroom designed by OpenAir Studio in Bangkok, Thailand.
