Foster + Partners designs Apple Store in Via del Corso in Rome

On May 27 the new Apple store located in Via del Corso in Rome opened its doors. The project designed by the Foster + Partners architectural firm, in collaboration with the Apple Creative Team, has brought Palazzo Marignoli back to life, a historic building originally constructed in 1873 by architect Salvatore Bianchi and later subjected to an extensive renovation by architect Giulio Podesti.

WALL Architectural Bureau for Rasario: not a showroom, but rather a “multifunctional urban space”

WALL Architectural Bureau has created a new showroom in Smolenskaya Square, Moscow for Rasario, a luxury fashion house based in Russia. The architects’ intention was to create a multifunctional urban space, closer to a contemporary museum than a traditional fashion boutique. They achieved this goal thanks to their use of statuesque shapes, with every last detail carefully studied, and an extremely restricted colour palette of grey and black.

As a result of the current pandemic, numerous events and initiatives in our cities and regions have been cancelled or reorganised to be held in digital form. Fuorisalone Digital, the digital event created for Milano Design Week, not only overcomes all the logistical issues connected with travel and gatherings at the current time, replacing the cancelled 2020 edition, but proposes a new way of getting the message of Fuorisalone across in the future. The intention is for the new platform and four new formats launched for the 2020 edition to continue alongside the traditional event held with the involvement of the entire city of Milan. A number of digital events offer previews of what will be happening in a few months’ time, such as the opening of the Iris Ceramica Group’s new showroom in Milan.
