TADAO ANDO ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITION
The Fuori Salone events at recent editions of the Salone del Mobile, the Milan Furniture Fair, have registered growing interest in Japanese architects and designers. Unrivalled master of contemporary architecture Tadao Ando is the subject of an exhibition coming up at the Duvetica store the architect designed himself, which was inaugurated in October 2011.

The exhibition presents Tadao Ando’s plans for his last ten museums, built between the mid-1990s and 2010 in different parts of the world, from Japan to the United Arab Emirates, also including several European projects such as the Stone Sculpture Museum in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, Chateau La Coste in Aix-en-Provence, France, and the Palazzo Grassi, Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi and Venice’s Punta della Dogana Contemporary Art Centre in Italy.

The exhibition is curated by the architect’s own studio, Tadao Ando Architect & Associates, and emphasises Tadao Ando’s approach to design: in each of his new projects he focuses primarily on the community, the landscape and people, creating a dialogue between new and existing constructions.
