The winners of the 2020 Italian Architecture Award

On June 30 MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Art hosted the awards ceremony in the first edition of the Italian Architecture Award, promoted by MAXXI and Triennale Milano with the support of the Italian Culture and Tourism Ministry. On the podium, two women architects: Francesca Torzo with "Z33 House for Contemporary Art, Design and Architecture" and Lucy Styles with "Home Sweet Home". Architect Cino Zucchi was awarded an honourable mention for the Lavazza Headquarters, while the Award for Lifetime Achievement went to architect Renzo Piano.

In Givisiez, Switzerland, the Bern-based IttenBrechbühl Architects firm designed the new futuristic headquarters for Scott Sports, manufacturer of sports equipment for cycling, skiing, motorcycling and running. A dynamic building with a high-tech modular façade that contains an imposing full-height central atrium. A structure that interprets and immediately communicates Scott Sports’ brand values and corporate mission.

Lissoni & Partners architecture, nature and industry on the lake - Fantini Headquarters in Pella

Architect Piero Lissoni and his team designed the new Fantini headquarters in Pella, in the province of Novara, in a stupendous natural spot on the shore of Lake Orta. The complex, delicate project permits harmonious integration of the industrial buildings into their natural surroundings. The project won the 2018 Best of Year Award in the kitchen and bathroom Showroom category presented by the American magazine Interior Design in New York.

Swiss architecture and design practice Evolution Design, in collaboration with Russian architectural office T+T Architects, has developed striking new headquarters for the headquarters of the Russian bank, Sberbank. Their project revolves around an internal atrium, complete with a diamond-shaped, suspended meeting pod, 20-metre high planted walls and a series of cantilevered meeting rooms.
