Rome. Festival del Verde e del Paesaggio.
The fourth “Festival del Verde e del Paesaggio” – celebrating gardens and landscaping – will be held in the verdant green areas of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome from 16 to 18 May 2014. The event embraces landscape architecture, design, gardening and leisure in the outdoors.

In the magnificent grounds of the music auditorium designed by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, in an area of more than 25,000 square metres, visitors can dive into a world of plants and flowers, of specially created landscapes, of everything green, all embracing the theme “Il giardino luogo preveggente” (The prescient garden).

There is plenty to see and do here and the festival covers many contemporary topics like making the most of urban spaces, and hanging gardens, also providing learning workshops for children, and practical garden courses.

The programme also includes two landscape contests, “Avventure Creative” (creative adventures), all about temporary gardens, and “Balconi per Roma” (balconies for Rome), for the under-30s, the brief requiring experimental ideas for balconies in the city.

This event is an absolute must if you love the verdant green of plants and landscape, with everything taking place in the splendid setting of the Parco della Musica, the Italian capital’s large, beloved music park designed by Renzo Piano, a project that is much more than just a place to make music, it is a common ground for culture and city.
