- Matter and Light exhibition of Josep Ferrando at the Aedes Gallery, Berlin
Matter and Light, the exhibition of the work of architect, Josep Ferrando at the Aedes Gallery in Berlin, is showcasing the work of the architect from Barcelona for the first time in Germany.
An opportunity to get a close look at his creations, that Josep Ferrando himself defines as “a combination of light and matter”, where light creates the effect of being alive and gives movement to volumes that, formed of matter, are actually inanimate. He has always carried this thought with him in his professional activity and academically, teaching at a number of international universities and schools.
The exhibition installation at the Aedes Gallery in Berlin promises to be a synergic combination of place, light and space, where twelve detailed models are strongly distinguished by their material. And the exhibition includes an interplay of drawings, photographs and projections providing more information.
The projects showcased include built works, including the University Campus in Tortosa, Spain, the police station in Salt, Spain, which we will be exploring in more detail next week, in addition to projects such as a crematorium in Basel, Switzerland.
The “Matter and Light” exhibition will be open from 12 July to 21 August 2014 and Floornature will be following the opening on 11 July live from Berlin, where we will be meeting the architect, Josep Ferrando in person.
