Murray Legge designed the last pavilion in Little Tiger Chinese Immersion School in Austin, Texas. In accordance with the Land Development Code, the bungalow is inspired by the ’40’s style bungalows of the North Loop district and by the architecture of the early American one-room schools located in church buildings.

A school like a town centre, Gallatin High School

Gallatin High School in Bozeman, Montana, was designed by architecture firm Cushing Terrell and accommodates 1500 students. That’s a lot of people, and it suggests the analogy with a town where the life of the community rotates around the various arteries of the centre, a concept which the architects also embraced.

Xaveer De Geyter Architects: 195 Melopee School in Ghent

Part of OMA’s masterplan, 195 Melopee School is a modular steel and glass structure in Ghent’s Old Dockyards. Its light, open architecture breaks away with the concept of a curtain of buildings along the canal to promote the building’s relationship with the neighbourhood around it.

The winners of the “Italian Architect” and “Young Talent of Italian Architecture” Awards 2020

The winners of the annual prizes awarded by the National Council of Italian Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Heritage Preservers and by the network of provincial orders were recently announced. The award ceremony will take place in January during the “Festa dell'architetto” event. The 2020 edition of the traditional “Architetto italiano 2020” (Italian Architect) and Giovane talento dell’Architettura italiana 2020”“ (Young Talent of Italian Architecture) awards focused on the “school” theme and, this year, were fittingly paired with the special award titled “(Ri)progettare la scuola con le nuove generazioni post Covid-19” ((Re)designing the school with the new post Covid-19 generations).

Bovenbouw Architectuur designs a kindergarten in Edegem, Belgium

The Bovenbouw Architectuur firm has designed a new kindergarten in Edegem (Belgium). A brick building characterised by clean, well-defined lines and a contemporary style, fitting harmoniously into the dense urban fabric of the Belgian city and taking up the architectural elements of the façades of nearby buildings.
