b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos designed the new Lycée Français Maternelle in the Bonanova district north of Barcelona. The lot on which two historic early twentieth-century villas once stood now hosts a new building with multi-coloured walls of timber and metal.

Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés, La Plaine Saint Denis High-School
The project by studio Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés, in the southern part of Saint Denis and, specifically, in the Montjoie urban development zone, represented a double challenge for the studio. Indeed, it was both an urban and an architectural challenge, due to its size and to the programme carried out, that combines a high school and a student boarding house.

WORKac, Edible Schoolyard P.S. 216 in New York
In the run-up to the fourth encounter of The Architects Series at SpazioFMGperl’architettura, Milan on 13 September, with Dan Wood, who co-founded the New York-based architecture firm, WORKac with Amale Andraos, here is one of their really green projects - a schoolyard garden with greenhouse and kitchen at the Arturo Toscanini School in Gravesend, Brooklyn.

Elisa Valero wins the sixth edition of the Swiss Architectural Award
Spanish architect Elisa Valero is the first woman to win the Swiss Architectural Award, on the occasion of the sixth edition of the biennial prize sponsored by the Swiss Architectural Foundation. In its previous editions, the prize was won by architects Junya Ishigami, José María Sánchez García, Studio Mumbai, Diébédo Francis Kéré and Solano Benítez.

C.F. Møller Architects Copenhagen International School Nordhavn Copenhagen
C.F. Møller Architects’ Copenhagen International School Nordhavn is the school of the future. Photovoltaic panels on the roof supply more than half of the school’s electricity. The project has won numerous awards, most recently the 2018 AZ Award in the Commercial/Institutional Architecture Over 1,000 SqM category.
