Arte da vivere a Expowall Gallery. The exhibition “E se una notte un cantastorie” by Francesca Maria Cabrini at Expowall Gallery in Milan explores the potential of art as it is transformed from monument to event, aimed at really engaging visitors.

Expowall Gallery, the gallery of architecture photography in Via Curtatone, Milan proposes the personal exhibition of visual artist & illustrator Francesca Maria Cabrini “E se una notta un cantastorie” (And if one night a balladeer). An all-round study of art that has been turned from something static and unilateral - a monument - into an event.

A huge step that changes the role of visitors from figurant and passive user of the various forms of art into the lead actor, who is delegated to interact, to set up contacts both with the artworks displayed and with the other visitors.

In the Expowall space run by Pamela Campaner and Alberto Meomartini, Francesca Maria Cabrini has created an installation that skilfully blendsthe different artistic disciplines that she explores. These include photographs representing her visual travel notes, whose mystifying effect is generated by the handmade paper used to print them, to painted canvases, a book to savour and the filing cabinet with story-filled drawers - the focal point of the exhibition and winner of the Arte Laguna Prize 2015.

Far from the frenzied rhetoric of our times, where everything is gobbled up in a flash and you forget what you've seen even before you've taken it in, at Expowall Francesca Maria Cabrini gives us a small oasis of peace in the rising heat of Milan. A place where the artworks on display trigger the imagination of visitors without the need for a technological magic show, going beyond that pretend interaction by means of a touch screen for a hands-on experience where you can feel the material surface of the artworks in a post-web creative act.
