Piccole Tracce Nursery by Paolo Carlesso

Architect Paolo Carlesso was appointed to design an expansion for the nursery school in the town of Giussano, near Lake Como. The project added a pentagonal volume that may be used as a single area or divided into classrooms.

The winner of the third arcVision Prize – Women and Architecture was announced on March 6: architect Angela Deuber. A special prize goes to Paula Nascimento with honourable mentions for architects Kate Otten (South Africa), Patama Roonrakwit (Thailand) and Samira Rathod (India).

The City and The Water Workshop University of Pisa

Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter designs the Råå Day Care Centre in Sweden

Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter draws inspiration from the traditional fishermen’s homes in the village of Råå, though without falling into a vernacular architectural idiom. The Råå Day Care Centre, on the coast of Sweden at the strait of Øresund, is a building for children organised on the basis of the principles of creative play and integration into the landscape.

Steven Holl and Lake|Flato Architects for the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

The plans for expansion of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston have been unveiled. Architect Steven Holl came up with a masterplan for the entire campus and designed two buildings, while Lake|Flato Architects designed the conservation and restoration centre.
