Souto de Moura: school in Portalegre
Eduardo Souto de Moura has designed a school of hotel management in Portalegre, as unostentatious as any of his buildings, located in the former Robinson industrial complex. The project draws on the Portuguese architectural heritage and presents it in a contemporary form suggesting a new definition of the landscape.

nuEvo, Maxxi Museum, new eco friendly projects for ACTIVE
The competition Eco Luoghi 2011 has just ended with the proclamation of the winners by Consulting Engineers and Architects to design environmentally friendly houses respectful of the Italian landscape: 45 mq houses planned with technological solutions attentive to energy saving and thet will be built thanks to the contribution of companies chosen by the planners themselves.

C. F. Møller: Sølvgade School in Copenhagen
In this discrete project, C. F. Møller has renovated an old school in Copenhagen, restoring the original volume built in 1847 and constructing a new building on the corner of Kronprinsessegade and Klerkegade. The element allowing the new building to communicate with its surroundings is a façade concealing an energy conservation project.

Frigoriferi Milanesi. Converting an industrial complex into cultural facilities.
A complex dating back to 1899, originally built to produce ice and provide cold stores, has now found a new use in the areas of art, architecture and culture, providing exhibition and co-working spaces.

Next Landmark: web winner
Among the projects that received the most votes from the international panel, web voters preferred the research to construct a school in Gaza by Cristina Labianca and Alberto Menozzi. The 40 projects with the most votes from the international panel will be on show during the Next Landmark evening event.

International Sustainable Architecture Award
June 25 saw the conclusion of the 9th Fassa Bortolo International Sustainable Architecture Competition. The gold medal was awarded to Paredes Pedrosa arquitectos for UPI School (Spain).
