Manuelle Gautrand’s Edison Lite, a co-housing project that reinvents Paris
Edison Lite, a co-housing project by architect Manuelle Gautrand constructed in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, is one of the winners of the “Réinventer Paris 1” competition: a call for innovative urban projects with which the City of Paris has selected 22 architectural projects out of more than 350 entries submitted. Manuelle Gautrand proposes a new way of living in the city in which residents enjoy use of unique shared spaces such as a rooftop terrace, a vegetable plot and a workshop, while sharing ownership of a retail space that allows them to cut building management costs.

SHIFT, sustainable rehabilitation by Arte Charpentier Architectes
Arte Charpentier Architectes has refurbished a building that it had designed in the early 1990s. This project has made it possible to bring the building out of its self-imposed isolation and reconnect it with the city, setting up a renewed relationship with the environment around it.

Dominique Perrault’s roof over Suzanne Lenglen Tennis Court at Stade Roland Garros in Paris
The new roof over Suzanne Lenglen Tennis Court at Stade Roland Garros in Paris, designed by architect Dominique Perrault and his studio, was unveiled during the French Open, the world’s most important tennis tournament held on a clay court. The “plissé”, as the roof was nicknamed right away, will allow tennis matches to go ahead even in rainy weather and at night, as well as making the court suitable for the boxing matches to be held during the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.

Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos designs Cité du Théâtre in Paris
The project designed by the Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos and Marin + Trottin Architectes architecture studios was named as the winner of the competition for the construction of "La Cité du Théâtre". One of the most important projects of the Grand Paris initiative, the Cité will be set in the Ateliers Berthier built in 1895 by Charles Garnier, the famous architect of the Paris Opera. The project will bring together three famous French institutions from the world of culture: the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique (CNSAD), the Théâtre National de l'Odéon - Théâtre de l'Europe and the Comédie-Française.

Richard Rogers leaves Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners after 40 years of architecture
A few weeks after his 87th birthday, architect Richard Rogers retired from the board of directors of Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, the practice he founded more than 40 years ago; within the next 2 years his name will be removed from the name of the studio. Thus ends the career of the famous architect who worked on projects such as the Centre Pompidou (with Renzo Piano and Gianfranco Franchini) in Paris, Lloyds of London, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the Millennium Dome or O2, also in London, a large tensile structure on Greenwich peninsula.

CHRISTO AND JEANNE-CLAUDE - PARIS! Exhibition Centre Pompidou
The Centre Pompidou, Paris hosts a major exhibition on Christo and Jeanne-Claude, looking back on their Parisian period from 1958 to 1964 and the history of Le Pont-Neuf Wrapped project, conceived as early as 1975 and built in 1985. The exhibition precedes the environmental art installation conceived for the Arc de Triomphe; wrapping of the famous Parisian monument is scheduled for 2021.

SOA Architectes: the La Fab. building for the agnès b. collection, Paris
Parisian firm SOA Architectes has designed a new multipurpose building in the heart of the 13th arrondissement of the French capital. The building contains 75 residential units, a kindergarten and, on the lower floors, “La Fab.”, which the architecture firm itself has also designed as an interior for agnès b., a stylist, patron and collector who has spent many years supporting artistic creation in all its forms. Her initiatives are also aimed towards social solidarity and safeguarding the environment, and SOA Architectes’ design has provided a home for all of the patron’s various activities under one roof.

Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés and MOA Architecture two residential towers in Paris
Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés and MOA Architecture each designed a residential tower containing apartments with little offices in the heart of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, as part of La Chapelle International urban development project.
