Creative recycling: MVRDV’s Bulgari flagship store in Shanghai
Rotterdam architectural studio MVRDV has completed the Bulgari flagship store in Shanghai, a new boutique showcasing the circular economy with a green, jade-like façade made from brass and recycled glass bottles, referencing the original Bulgari boutique in Rome and Shanghai’s Art Deco architecture.

MVRDV’s Ilot Queyries, living on a human scale in Bordeaux
Dutch architectural studio MVRDV completed Ilot Queyries, a residential building in Bordeaux, France, a few weeks ago. The courtyard construction featuring plenty of green space is part of a new neighbourhood consisting of four buildings designed by MVRDV with Joubert Architecture.

MVRDVHNI: The Living Archive exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam
Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam hosts "MVRDVHNI: The Living Archive", a multimedia exhibition covering thirty years of work by architectural practice MVRDV. The public is offered an opportunity to go behind the scenes and discover the architects’ projects, which are presented divided into three recurring themes: green, human, and dream. In addition to over 400 projects from MVRDV’s archives, from the top floor of the Het Nieuwe Instituut visitors will be able to view one of the studio’s most recent constructions: the nearby Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Accessible art, the Depot of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum designed by MVRDV
Getting closer to art has never been easier and more fascinating: thanks to the new depot of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, the immense collection of the famous Dutch museum becomes accessible to everyone. The large mirrored "bowl" designed by the MVRDV studio in the Museumspark has already become a popular city attraction, the second landmark created by the studio in its native city.

MVRDV interior design for Casa Camper in Berlin
In Berlin, in the vibrant central Mitte district, Café Camaleon was recently completed. The project was designed by MVRDV and GRAS Arquitectos, with Berlin architect Laura V Rave, for Casa Camper Berlin, the second hotel of the well-known shoe brand Camper. The interior project combines three functions in the same place: the hotel lobby, a cafeteria-restaurant and the brand showroom. The use of a striking colour gradient, achieved by carefully selecting details and materials, creates an important visual appeal in the urban context.

MVRDV designs the R&D headquarters of Lankuaikei Agriculture Development in Shanghai
MVRDV has presented the project for the headquarters of Lankuaikei Agriculture Development (LAD) in Shanghai. The building, which combines both high-tech and low-tech sustainability strategies, will become an urban agricultural oasis and a showcase for the company’s offering of digital and IT technology services applied to agricultural management and crops.

MVRDV designs new project for the Port of Rotterdam
The MVRDV architecture studio has recently revealed the design of a new project for the port of Rotterdam, the Harbour Experience Centre, an exhibition space and visitor centre that will be located at the harbour’s western-most point. The new building will offer tourists and citizens spectacular 360° panoramic views over the harbour, the coast and the ocean. The Harbour Experience Centre is set to be completed and to open its doors to the public in 2024.

MVRDV begins construction of the Shenzhen Terraces
In Shenzhen, in southeastern China, construction has begun on the Shenzhen Terraces, the mixed-use project designed by the MVRDV architecture firm and which will form the core of the thriving university district in the city’s Longgang District. The project, which stands as one of the most sustainable carried out in the Chinese metropolis, is characterised by a strong urban component, with a series of terraced areas that aim to maximise public life and an abundance of green spaces.
