Planet Netherlands: 20 years of Dutch architecture online
Dok Architecten, Kaan Architecten, MVRDV, Next Architects, Maurice Nio, OMA/AMO, UNStudio and Wiel Arets Architects are only a few of the Dutch architectural practices involved in Planet Netherlands, an online exhibition promoted by the Embassy and the General Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy through its social media profiles, put together in partnership with The Architecture Player. The projects represented include both private homes and public spaces and buildings, all involved in the search for and experimentation with new solutions for the home and the city.

MVRDV converts an office into Villa Stardust home in Rotterdam
Addition of a central patio with a garden is the strong point of this recent project by MVRDV bringing new life to a former commercial building. The highly sustainable project is inspired by the principles of the circular economy and by the concept of the riad, a form of spontaneous traditional Moroccan residential architecture often with two or more stories, with the rooms arranged around inner courtyards and gardens.

Tainan Spring, an urban lagoon in Taiwan by MVRDV
Dutch architecture studio MVRDV has created a virtuous example of the circular economy in Tainan, Taiwan. The architects removed and recycled a strategically positioned shopping mall in the old town, which no longer serves its intended purpose, replacing it with a sunken public plaza dominated by an urban pool and local plants, and surrounded by a shaded arcade.

MVRDV Future Towers - Amanora Park Town Pune India
The Future Towers containing more than 1000 apartments designed by international architectural studio MVRDV were recently completed in a township in India.
