Changing our footprint: Henning Larsen Architects sets an example

To celebrate Copenhagen as World Architecture Capital of 2023, the first European city to be granted this honour, Berlin’s Aedes Architecture Forum dedicates an exhibition to one of Denmark’s most important architectural studios: "Changing our Footprint - In dialogue with Henning Larsen, Copenhagen". The exhibition not only shows how Henning Larsen Architects address the environmental impact of their architectural projects, but invites visitors to participate in the dialogue and learn how we can change our footprint, in small but scalable steps.

A lesson in city design from Toronto: less digital, more common good

Last February, the city of Toronto announced its new plan for urban development of the Quayside district on the Lake Ontario waterfront. Green parks and two acres of urban forests, eight-hundred low-cost housing units, arts centres focusing on indigenous culture and a promise of zero emissions: the proposal submitted by Adjaye Associates, Henning Larsen, Alison Brooks Architects and SLA replaced the previous high-tech proposal put forward by Alphabet.

Created for the 3daysofdesign event in Copenhagen, the Fritz Hansen pavilion designed by Henning Larsen prides itself on a through and through sustainable design. Located in the garden of the Designmuseum Danmark, Grønnegården, the pavilion impresses with its focus on natural light and materials that allow it to be fully disassembled and make it circular economy-friendly.

Henning Larsen Architects unveils its design for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation shortlisted three architects practices, Henning Larsen, Snøhetta and Studio Gang, for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library project in Medora. Henning Larsen Architects recently presented its design inspired by the landscape of the Badlands region in North Dakota. The rugged landscape, with its buttes, had deep significance for former American President, Theodore Roosevelt. The winning design will be announced at the end of September 2020.
