Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park wins the 2015 Mipim Awards

The winners of the 2015 Mipim Awards were announced during the awards ceremony in Cannes on March 13, including the special prize of the jury for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
The park in east London was built for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics in London and contained the Olympic village and other sports facilities and various other constructions, including the London Aquatics Centre designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the ArcelorMittal Orbit observation tower designed by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, and the Olympic Stadium designed by American architectural studio Populous.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was designed by Erect Architects with LUC landscape architect, James Corner Field Operations and Make Architects.
The winners in the various categories of the 2015 Mipim Awards were announced on March 13, including the award for Best Shopping Centre, which went to the Markthal in Rotterdam by MVRDV.
