NOVE NOVOS – NEUN NEUE. Emerging Architects from Brazil exhibition

The important sports events coming up in the country (the 2014 Football World Cup and the 2016 Olympics) are increasingly attracting the eyes of the world to Brazil .
At the Frankfurt book fair, Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) presented an exhibition focusing on 9 young Brazilian architectural studios.
The German institution attempted to identify the architectural practices now working in Brazil that have inherited a part of the modernist heritage of 1988 Pritzker Prize winner Oscar Niemeyer a year after his death.

The exhibition features nine of the country’s youngest architectural practices (all under 40): Arquitetos Associados, BCMF Arquitetos, Rizoma, Carla Juaçaba, Jacobsen Arquitetura, Studio Paralelo, Corsi Hirano ArQuitetos, Metro Arquitetos Associados and Nitsche ArQuitetos Associados. Young architects with plenty of professional experience already behind them, who have worked on architectural projects on all scales, from private homes to public administrative buildings, sports centres, shopping centres and museums.
