The strength and beauty of technical ceramic tiles in the contemporary bathroom: exclusive interior design by Seventyonepercent
Tradition and innovation are combined in many interior design projects, especially in places where materials are really the crucial factor.
Over the long term, materials’ properties truly come to the fore in the parts of the home where they are exposed to intensive, prolonged use, such as the kitchen and bathroom
In these cases, it is best to immediately choose products which withstand daily wear and tear while maintaining the original beauty of their surfaces
The bathroom is one of the rooms in the home on which designers have concentrated the most in recent years, considering both the role of the most traditional products (wood, metal, brass and majolica ware, to name just a few) and the need to transform it into a place of harmony and calm.

In line with the aesthetic trend of beauty farms and spas, the main focus is on the mood in home bathrooms, too, delivering sensual pleasure with lights, mirrors, vapors, sounds and fragrances, supported by natural features such as plants, stones, pathways and water cascades if wished.
So even in small spaces, contemporary bathroom design seeks beauty and wellbeing, combined with convenience, not to mention environmental awareness.
The product that responds to these functions and offers solutions for all surfaces, maintaining them unchanged after years of use, is definitely high-end technical ceramics

Iris Ceramica Group, world leader in the production of technical ceramics, addresses the bathroom in the recent Seventyonepercent project, with its launch collection designed by Paolo Castelli S.p.A.
It is a prestige partnership between two leading modern design groups: celebrating 60 years in business in 2021, Iris Ceramica Group is a holding company at the top of the ceramics industry in terms of both production and distribution and its decades of know-how, through which it continues the great Italian ceramics tradition.
The same craft tradition is at the roots of Paolo Castelli S.p.A., heir to a historic Bologna business dating back to 1887: a flexible, dynamic organization, nowadays Paolo Castelli S.p.A. is a leader in global contracting and interior design, supplying the hospitality, high-end residential, luxury retail, museum and cruise ship sectors.

Globe, Inspiration, Suite and Thirties

Comprising four product lines, Globe, Inspiration, Suite and Thirties, shown here in the gallery, the Seventyonepercent brand addresses a knowledgeable, discerning target and offers an attractive, unusual aesthetic experience.
The production system underpinning Seventyonepercent is a craft production chain, with products entirely designed and engineered in Italy’s Emilia region.
The collection’s technical ceramics are sophisticated and elegant, able to dialogue with other luxury materials to create exclusive interiors, with a strong sense of identity, distinction and refinement.
“The Seventyonepercent idea and name originate in the ratio of interaction between water and land", viewed as the greatest example of equilibrium and synthesis to be found in Nature. Specifically, the number 71 represents the percentage of the Earth’s surface covered with water.

A line “with a strong creative impact", Globe is a source of light, illuminating interiors and transfiguring them into a new dimension, immediately becoming the central feature in the design scheme.
These effects are generated by the ever-changing reflections, which “caress the eye and fuel the imagination, creating a sophisticated blend of materials, geometric shapes and style”.
The polished glass disc is shaped with a wave effect and incorporates a mirror, while the washbasin is available in matt Calacatta Oro and glossy Statuario Light. Taps and fittings are available with a matt gold or matt black nickel finish.
With inputs from the past, Inspiration is a line rich in details, for a bathroom that stands for the “sharing of spaces and moments, osmosis and play". The Inspiration countertop and wall covering are in glossy Statuario Light panel, and the structure has white lacquered finish. The hanging mirrors are in steel finish, and the metal details and taps and fittings in matt black nickel.
The meeting-point of “skillful design and craftsmanship and solid materials", Suite is an elegant, contemporary collection with a more rational, plainer mood.
Extremely attractive, Suite still delivers expression and visual strength thanks to a refined combination of colors: the cabinet is in the grays of Structured Pietra Piasentina, the finishes and details are in wood (walnut finish) and the taps and fittings and mirror are in matt gold color.
Form and seduction, on the other hand, are the distinguishing qualities of Thirties, with its fascinating use of contrasts. Thirties embodies a “subtle design that takes shape through the warmth of wood and gains strength thanks to porcelain stoneware decorated with metal inserts".
Top in matt Calacatta Oro panel, metal inserts, matt gold taps and fittings and wooden details.
