Bontempi architecture exhibition opens at FAB Castellarano

An unusual presentation by architect Pier Carlo Bontempi accompanied the November 20 opening of the exhibition entitled “Pier Carlo Bontempi: La provocazione più grande del mondo. Il Labirinto di Franco Maria Ricci e altre architetture” (“Pier Carlo Bontempi: The greatest provocation in the world. Franco Maria Ricci’s maze and other architectural projects”) at FAB Architectural Bureau in Castellarano, Fiandre’s gallery and showroom on the company’s premises in Via Guido Reni, Castellarano.

Mariagrazia Villa, a reporter with the Gazzetta di Parma and an architect, organised a “game” for everyone who attended the opening, leading to discovery of the way architect Pier Carlo Bontempi works.
The result was not only a very human portrait of the architect, but an opportunity to play an active role in the presentation. All those present were involved, encouraging in-depth understanding of the key values Pier Carlo Bontempi pursues in his architectural creations.
For the first event at FAB in Milan, Floornature’s curators (Paolo Schianchi, Mara Corradi) and Mariagrazia Villa presented projects by Pier Carlo Bontempi’s studio in the form of watercolours painted by Giuseppe Greci using Giambattista Lusieri’s technique. The second event in Castellarano featured big floor-to-ceiling photos of some of the projects, taking visitors to the sites of architectural projects: the Village, the Town Square, the City Block and the Maze. Each section of the exhibition presents wooden models made by carpenter Adriano Lari for study of the compositional proportions of the architect’s projects.
The exhibition will be open until December 10, and the finissage will feature a conversation between Pier Carlo Bontempi and Raul Pantaleo of TAMassociati moderated by reporter Luca Sommi, entitled “How many forms of traditional architecture?”.
