Raiz Arquitetura LIU House, on the beach in São Paulo

The LIU House is a beach house on the São Paulo coast, designed by studio Raiz Arquitetura, which was founded by architects Alexandre Ferraz and Elias Souza. The building's façades, particularly the main front one, are its strong points. The system of openings and the large portico designed by the architects ensure natural lighting and cross ventilation throughout the building, protecting it from strong sunlight and significantly improving environmental comfort.

Superlimão designs Canary's headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil

Farewell to Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha

Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, winner of the 2006 Pritzker Prize and of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in 2016, has passed away at the age of 92. Just a few days ago, during the press conference for the inauguration of the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, the curator of the exhibition, Hashim Sarkis, had quoted the Brazilian architect, recalling his inspiring vision of architecture as the art of delineating the unpredictable and therefore of anticipating the future.
