Heatherwick Studio has completed the new Maggie’s Centre in Leeds
Maggie’s is a foundation that has been providing support for cancer patients across the UK since 1996. 2020 saw the inauguration of the organisation’s twenty-sixth centre in Leeds: the work of Heatherwick Studio, a world-famous architecture firm. In their project for the new Maggie’s centre, Heatherwick followed the design theme of biophilia: the basic idea is that “healthy” and natural materials can have an effect on the ability of the centre’s residents to heal and recover.
