The Danish National Maritime Museum completed recently in Helsingør is a contemporary architecture project by an international team including Bjarke Ingels (BIG), Rambøll, Kossmann.dejong and KiBiSi. Six years of work went into this project celebrating Denmark’s seafaring tradition, a museum leading the way in redevelopment of the docks near Kronborg Castle to give the city a new meeting-place and landmark.

JDS (Julien De Smedt architects): Kalvebod Brygge waterfront in Copenhagen

Julien De Smedt architects is at the centre of the group of designers now working on another important urban project after Copenhagen’s Islands Brygge Park in 2003. The opposite shore of the canal has been redeveloped with a walkway over the water equipped to host sports activities and outdoor events, with the aim of reconnecting the city centre with the port and revitalising what was historically an industrial area.
