Steven Holl - Daeyang Gallery & House, Seoul

The Daeyang Gallery & House designed by American architect Steven Holl and inaugurated in June 2012 has been presented with the 2012 Annual Design Review Award in the Live category.

The annual award is presented by Architect Magazine, published by the American Institute of Architects, to buildings built in the US or by American architectural studios completed in the previous year, with the intention of offering a true-to-life snapshot of the state of architecture today. Awards were presented to 21 projects built in 2012, divided into 6 categories.

Mark Yoes, a member of the jury, emphasised that in the Daeyang Gallery & House architect Steven Holl manages to combine natural elements such as light, water and landscape with construction of a harmonious whole.

The Annual Design Review Award is the second award received by Steven Holl?s project, which won the Leaf Emirates Glass Awards 2012 in the multi-purpose building section.
