Italia Inside, the first of two exhibitions in Italia Inside Out, an event presented by Giovanna Calvenzi, is underway at Palazzo della Ragione Fotografia in Milan.
More than 250 photographs by 42 great Italian masters depict the landscapes and cities of Italy, from the post-war years to the present.
The exhibition installation designed by Peter Bottazzi represents a long train, in which each carriage contains a solo show by one of the photographers, linked with the places in Italy that inspired them. The route begins with Paolo Monti’s poetic images of Milan and ends with the city that houses Expo 2015, with views by Vincenzo Castella.
The other photographers’ work illustrates their places of origin, adopted homes and favourite places, professional and personal research and images created by manipulating reality, adding imagination to photography.
