Business of Design Week Hong Kong Design professionals come together to share their ideas for the Business of Design Week (BODW) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 30 November to 3 December. Chicago is the event's partner city.

Four days to explore new ideas and trends in design, business, technology and branding: Hong Kong is hosting the Business of Design Week where designers and creative professionals from all over the world are meeting to share their insights and stories and build up the creative network. It also features a busy schedule of exhibitions, workshops and conferences, and the annual DFA Awards Presentation Ceremony to recognise industry professionals.
Partner city of Hong Kong 2016 is Chicago, the ‘Windy City’ in Illinois. Because it is known as the influential city of American architecture, numerous architecture and creative experts from Chicago will discuss design and architectural topics as part of the BODW forum, the prime example being the Chicago Riverwalk by Ross Barney Architects.
Other forum speakers include Carlo Ratti from MIT Senseable City Lab and founder of carlorattiassociati (link), Winy Maas, co-founding Director of Dutch firm MVRDV (link interviews), French botanical artist Patrick Blanc, and industrial designer Tim Brown, CEO and President of IDEO.
A major event around design as a form of cross-the-board cultural project with the participation of museum directors alongside managers and retail experts of prominent brands, who we'll be interviewing about the importance of architecture and of the image in the retail industry. The new section of BODW, “Food & Design” is proof positive of the ongoing and increasing attention turned towards the food industry all over the world, while the “Culture & The City” session offers lots of ideas inspired by internationally acclaimed guests, including American artist Janet Echelman who incorporates wind, water and light in her new artwork.
