Located in Shanghai's affluent Xintiandi district, the new GRNDCNTRL nightclub designed by the PIG DESIGN studio, led by architect Li Wenqiang, stands out from other Shanghai nightlife spots. Inspired by the metaphorical concept of a "theatre", the design elevates the hip-pop nightclub to the next level of evening entertainment.

The Chinese-based Various Associates studio has designed the new boutique of the (SO)What women's clothing brand, which emphasises the freedom to choose one's own style, drawing inspiration from the cultural history of Chengdu, a city known for its traditional Shu operas. Designers from the Dutch Kossmann Dejong studio, together with Tellart, have created an exhibition on ancient crafts and artisanry at the House of Artisans, in Abu Dhabi. The exhibition concept has been fittingly revisited in an evocative architecture designed by architect Alex Franklin featuring a façade of woven wicker panels.
