Vincenzo Latina named Italian architect of the year

On November 13 the CNAPPC announced the winners of the prizes awarded at Festa dell'Architetto 2015. Vincenzo Latina was named Italian Architect of 2015, while studio demogo; was awarded the “ Raffaele Sirica Young Talent in Architecture Award for 2015”, and the spoon.city platform was named Young Professionals’ Start-up of the Year.



Vincenzo Latina named Italian architect of the year

The winners of the third Festa dell'Architetto, an initiative organised by Italy’s National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservationists(CNAPPC), were announced on November 13; the awards ceremony will be held on December 18.
The panel of judges chaired by architect Stefano Boeri and also including Raul Pantaleo of TAMassociati, contest winner in 2014, named Vincenzo Latina “Italian Architect of the Year in 2015”. The motivation states that he was chosen for “his ability to treat the quality of design as a key element in definition of processes of urban transformation expressed with rare sensibility and attention to the cultural and urban heritage, with which he manages to establish a significant relationship of interaction and dialogue”.

studio demogo, run by Simone Gobbo, Alberto Mottola and Davide De Marchi, was named “Young Talent in Italian Architecture in 2015” for the Gembloux City Hall project in Belgium.
A Spoon.City, www.spoon.city a start-up operated by Lucia Rampanti and Caterina Pilar Palumbo, won the “Raffaele Sirica – young professionals’ start-up” award.

The special prize of the jury for Italian Architect of 2015 went to Geza - Gri & Zucchi Architetti associati, while the two Honourable Mentions of the Jury for Young Talent in Italian Architecture in 2015 were awarded to John Salvatore Liotta/Laps (XL Art Gallery and Farm Cultural Park in Favara, Agrigento) and studio AM3 Architetti Associati, a practice run by Marco Alesi, Cristina Calì and Alberto Cusumano (Balestrate waterfront project in Palermo).
