Art as an activator in the new Bay Park in Sarasota, Florida
Two artistic installations, Portal and Drum Coral, designed by The Urban Conga for the Bay Conservancy’s new Bay Park in Sarasota, Florida, beautify the first part of the waterfront park. While maintaining a relationship with their natural surroundings, they are designed to offer two opportunities for play while serving as occasions for socialisation during construction of phase two in the environmental redevelopment project.

External Reference presents Escaleras y Mirador Vela
"Escaleras y Mirador Vela" is a new project by Carmelo Zappulla’s architectural practice External Reference connecting Passeig del Mare Nostrum with Plaça de la Rosa dels Vents on the Barceloneta waterfront. The project presents an architectural façade accessible via a stairway and a raised waterfront promenade 9.30 metres above the ground.

The Moon Garden completes Milan’s Portello Park
The Moon Garden is the last lot in a project commissioned by Iper Montebello Spa, designed by Charles Jencks and Andreas Kipar and developed by LAND Italia on the former Alfa Romeo industrial site at Portello. This final lot concludes a process that began more than 20 years ago, bringing the size of the park up to a total of about 73 thousand square metres.

Exhibition on the Olympic Park in Munich at the Architekturgalerie München
An exhibition on the Olympic Park in Munich at the Architekturgalerie München celebrates one of the most famous projects created by Günther Grzimek (1915-1996), a German landscape architect and advocate of a so-called democratic green. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the structures and of the park created for the 1972 Olympic Games. The exhibition is curated by Prof. Regine Keller with current photographs by The Pk Odessa Co.

The European Prize for Urban Public Space 2022 goes to Utrecht
The wait is over. On November 15, the 2022 European Prize for Urban Public Space was awarded during a ceremony at the CCCB (Barcelona Contemporary Culture Centre). The winning project is the restoration of the Catharijnesingel canal in Utrecht, the Netherlands, by the Dutch OKRA landschapsarchitecten studio.

Floriade Expo 2022 prequel to Hortus, a sustainable urban district
Last weekend the Floriade Expo 2022, the international horticulture exhibition held in the Netherlands every 10 years, closed in Almere. For six months, the 60-hectare Floriade park, on the Weerwater lake, presented the latest horticultural developments from around the world and now the park will be transformed into Hortus, a new sustainable residential area.

Agora Maximus, beyond tactical urbanism in Montreal
With the Agora Maximus project LAAB, a Canadian creative collective, together with Signature Design Communication (SDC), a multidisciplinary agency, proposed a temporary streetscape installation. Agora Maximus celebrates the seasonal pedestrianisation of Montreal's Saint-Denis Street with viewing platforms and vantage points that allow passersby admire the cityscape and its rich cultural offerings.

Design synergy for Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park in Austin
The Kingsbury Commons project in Pease Park, the oldest park in Austin, Texas, is part of the Pease Park Vision Plan and gives a burst of energy to a forgotten corner of the area. The project is the result of the collaboration between Ten Eyck, landscape architect and prime consultant, Clayton Korte for the architecture and Mell Lawrence Architects for the Treescape structure.
