Art as an activator in the new Bay Park in Sarasota, Florida

Two artistic installations, Portal and Drum Coral, designed by The Urban Conga for the Bay Conservancy’s new Bay Park in Sarasota, Florida, beautify the first part of the waterfront park. While maintaining a relationship with their natural surroundings, they are designed to offer two opportunities for play while serving as occasions for socialisation during construction of phase two in the environmental redevelopment project.

"Escaleras y Mirador Vela" is a new project by Carmelo Zappulla’s architectural practice External Reference connecting Passeig del Mare Nostrum with Plaça de la Rosa dels Vents on the Barceloneta waterfront. The project presents an architectural façade accessible via a stairway and a raised waterfront promenade 9.30 metres above the ground.

The Moon Garden is the last lot in a project commissioned by Iper Montebello Spa, designed by Charles Jencks and Andreas Kipar and developed by LAND Italia on the former Alfa Romeo industrial site at Portello. This final lot concludes a process that began more than 20 years ago, bringing the size of the park up to a total of about 73 thousand square metres.
