De Ferrari Architetti restored and reclaimed Turin’s historic Circolo della Stampa Sporting, with the 1943 clubhouse designed by architect Domenico Morelli. The structure was used as the extended headquarters of the Nitto ATP finals, the tennis tournament the Italian city will be hosting until 2025.

Benedetto Camerana designs the facilities for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin

A prominent international tennis tournament is currently underway in Turin, the Nitto ATP Finals, a play-off among the world’s best eight qualified singles players and doubles teams according to the ATP. Architect Benedetto Camerana won the Beauty Contest held by the Italian Tennis Federation and designed the facilities required for this major sporting event. The project included conversion of the Pala Alpitour designed by Arata Isozaki for the 2006 Winter Olympics, where all the matches in the tournament will be held.

Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo’s LCM 2018 / CASA-ASILO project (Mazzarone, Catania, 2018) and Simona Della Rocca of BDR bureau’s Enrico Fermi School project (Turin, 2019) are the winners of this year’s Italian Architecture Award and T Young Claudio De Albertis Award for young Italian architects, respectively. Paolo Portoghesi was unanimously awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Attraverso le Alpi” - exhibition on the transformations of the alpine landscape

On September 18, the “Attraverso le Alpi” exhibition opened its doors in 10 different locations, a photographic series commissioned by the Associazione Architetti Arco Alpino, which examines the transformations of the Alpine landscape. The photographic reportage was created by the Urban Reports photographers collective and consists of 274 shots which illustrate the transformations that have taken place along the Alpine valleys of the entire Italian Alps, from the French to the Slovenian border.
