From garage to studio, a transformation in Seattle
In Seattle's Ballard district, the architects of Mutuus Studio, Jim Friesz and Kristen Becker have transformed an old garage into a small studio measuring approximately 33 square metres. The project, realised in collaboration with Crescent Builds, follows the wish of the owners and proposes a multifunctional living space for all members of the family.

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Aerial Walkway for Seattle-Tacoma Airport
International passengers arriving at Seattle-Tacoma Airport in the United States will be greeted by a scenic and impressive overhead walkway designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). A replacement for the previous structure built 50 years ago, the new walkway is certainly the most complex intervention at the airport in the last seventy years, and it offers a spectacular welcome to passengers arriving into the city.

Wittman Estes, transformation of an apartment in Seattle
The US architecture firm Wittman Estes has designed the transformation of an apartment inside Lakeside West, a condominium complex originally built in 1961 by John Graham, who at the time had already created his iconic Seattle Space Needle. The intervention carried out by the Wittman Estes studio has adapted the residence to contemporary needs, with simple and functional spaces.

The Civic Hotel in Seattle: the past revisited by Wittman Estes
Seattle-based architecture firm Wittman Estes has completed the renovation and modernisation of a hotel originally opened in 1962 for the Century 21 World's Fair in the rapidly transforming South Lake Union neighbourhood of the city. The project also includes furniture designed by the architects specifically to echo the hotel’s mid-century history.
