Vudafieri-Saverino Partners RØST interior design for a restaurant in Milan

Vudafieri-Saverino Partners created the interior design of RØST, a new restaurant in Milan serving sustainable, authentic cuisine focusing on rediscovery of traditional flavours. The architects’ interior design project uses spaces, colours and surfaces to interpret the restaurant’s key concept of a culinary voyage in discovery of the areas of origin of the ingredients and the people who passionately grow and raise them in accordance with the timing of natural cycles.

Architect Maurizio Lai recently came up with an interior design project for AJI, Claudio Liu’s Asian food delivery and take away brand: an interior design project that addresses the limitations and the opportunities that are arising as businesses reopen following the lockdown. The occasion offered an opportunity to put in practice some of the reflections addressed in the Design Tech For Future White Paper, for which Maurizio Lai coordinated the technical work group concerned with restaurants and catering.

Farewell to Nanda Vigo, artist and designer of light

Milanese architect and designer Nanda Vigo died on May 16 at the age of 83. A key figure on the Italian art scene in the 60s and 70s who worked with architects such as Giò Ponti and artists such as Lucio Fontana, she was the subject of a retrospective held in 2015-2016 at SpazioFMGperl'architettura, the gallery and showroom of Iris Ceramica Group brands Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, organised by curator Luca Molinari and entitled “Opere abitate da opere 1959 – 1972” - “Artworks inhabited by artworks 1959 - 1972".

From Sicily to Milan: Forte Architetti’s residential interiors

Three interesting interior design projects by Forte Architetti. Starting with the landscape of Sicily, in the shadow of Mt. Etna, where architect Roberto Forte designed a family home and farm in a lemon grove. Then heading even further south, with an interior in Ortigia, the historic centre of the city of Syracuse, before travelling all the way up the boot of Italy to give a new identity to an anonymous apartment in Milan.

L22 Urban & Building by Lombardini22, New urban image for the Sarca 222 building

Lombardini22 completed an urban renewal project on an industrial building at Viale Sarca 222 in Milan, constructed in the sixties and renovated in the early 2000s. The building now has a new urban image designed by Lombardini22’s L22 Urban & Building division, consistent with the evolution of the district. The architects designed a grid of frames and glass elements giving Sarca 222 a dynamic rhythm of solids and hollows.
