"Diamoci del tu. Dialoghi fra arte e design" (“Let’s be familiar: Dialogues between art and design”) is the motto of the second Milano Design Weekend: a weekend of furniture shopping with related design, art, architecture and music events.
From October 6 to 9 2011 a network of events will link showrooms, furniture stores, architectural studios, museums and institutions in the second Milano Design Weekend.The packed calendar of events was organised by the Mondadori Group and the RCS Group with contributions from the P.P.C. Order of Architects of the Province of Milan, the Triennale Design Museum, the Museo del Novecento, the Conservatory and the Civic Archeological Museum, as well as the city?s circuit of Museum Homes.
Participating shops will interpret the theme "Let?s be familiar: Dialogues between art and design" with events and initiatives directly involving consumers, special exhibitions in museums, free entrance and tours guided by critics and art historians.
In order to bring design to the general public, the Triennale Design Museum, a partner in the initiative, will also be holding educational workshops in which designers and architects help children discover the world of materials, the beautiful and the useful in design.
