gmp new urban project in Shenzhen

The architects of gmp have won the international competition to design the new "Qianhai Integrated Transportation Hub" in the city of Shenzen, China.

The urban development project concerns a vast area measuring 45 hectares, to contain 5 metro stations, a border control point and a number of commercial developments.
The architects of gmp planned a development consisting of towers of different heights for multipurpose districts containing apartments, shops and offices.

The project is part of the plan for transformation of the Pearl River Delta into a new financial district with direct links to Hong Kong and financial and fiscal incentives for trade in Chinese currency. The long term plan is to create a huge single metropolitan area incorporating Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
