The map of Milan’s metro system decorating an entire wall in the courtyard garden of the Brera Mediateque is a tangible example of the high level of precision and definition that can be achieved by laser graphics, and of the versatility of Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti big ceramic slabs.

Digital innovation from Maxfine at Brera DesignDays

Iris ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti are the main sponsors at Brera DesignDays, a series of meetings, exhibitions and workshops coming up in Milan’s Brera district October 1 through 9.
"Design and Innovation: Digital and Local" is the theme of the series, which will start at 6 pm on September 30 at Mediateca Santa Teresa, Via della Moscova 28. The cube and the garden in the Mediateque have been renovated for the occasion to offer entertainment, dining and relaxation areas for the many visitors expected to come.
Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti were involved in the renovation of the courtyard garden and will offer the public at Brera Design Days tangible proof of the innovation achieved in porcelain surfaces and specifically in work with large slabs. The whole wall around the garden, measuring more than 20 metres long and 3 metres high, was given a facelift with Maxfine slabs by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti. The 300x150 cm ceramic slabs were worked with laser engraving, a special process permitting reproduction of a map of the metro system of the city of Milan on the slabs. Their durability, strength and easy cleaning made them ideal for the outdoor area in the bar, in the 60x60 cm Pietra di Modica version.
Stefano Luconi, Communication & Digital Technologies Officer for Iris Ceramica Group Spa, will talk about the challenges facing ceramic surfaces at an event entitled “Large ceramic surfaces: from growth in size to the quantic leap toward high-tech applications” at the talk on Interaction Design scheduled for October 1 (Mediateca Santa Teresa, 9:30).
