David Chipperfield Architects exhibition
Luca Molinari, David Chipperfield,

The designs in question are: Rivellini del Castello Sforzesco di Milan and the Barchessa di villa Da Porto Barbaran in Montorso Vicentino.
Both these projects by David Chipperfield Architects were designed to create new continuity and equilibrium between the historical and new parts of the building through the completion of existing areas and the use of the original materials. The two projects can be seen as representing the synthesis of the idea of renovation shared by David Chipperfield and his firm as Graziano Verdi, President and Managing Director of Iris Ceramica, pointed out: “The David Chipperfield Architects, Thinking Past: Due progetti affini exhibition allows us to explore the views on renovation held by one of the most prestigious and important architecture firms in the world. Respect for historic architectural heritage is a quality we support and defend along with respect for the environment and the territory”.
