CTBUH award for skyscrapers

Skyscrapers by Gehry, Foster, Hutton and Wilkinson Eyre have won the regional sections of the CTBUH, and the overall winner will be announced in October 2011.



CTBUH award for skyscrapers
4 skyscrapers have received the "Best Tall Buildings" award assigned by the CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) in Chicago. The winner of the first prize for Best Tall Building Worldwide will be announced at the official awards ceremony in October.
Each skyscraper represents a particular geographic area:
the Americas are represented by the Eight Spruce Street skyscraper built in New York (USA) by Gehry Architects,
Asia and Australia are represented by Guangzhou International Finance Center, designed by Wilkinson Eyre Architects in Guangzhou (China),
Europe is represented by KfW Westarkade in Frankfurt (Germany) by architect Sauerbruch Hutton;
the Middle East and Africa are represented by The Index, a skyscraper designed by Foster + Partners in Dubai (UAE).

The judges declared that the skyscrapers were chosen for their innovative designs and technical solutions, and because they were built in accordance with the criteria of sustainability and enhancement of the city and of its inhabitants? lives.
