One Za'abeel, the future of contemporary architecture embraces luxury and innovation

The Dubai skyline is enriched by a new skyscraper, the One Za'abeel complex: a construction that certainly does not go unnoticed thanks to its original and futuristic shape. An avant-garde project in contemporary architecture, also when it comes to the use of materials produced by Fiandre Architectural Surfaces in the interiors.
For the interior design of the One Za'abeel The Residences tower and the 264 luxury apartments that compose it, Fiandre offered tailor-made solutions and customised applications aimed at meeting the needs of the clients, contributing to defining the unique identity of this extraordinary project.

One Za'abeel is a mixed-use complex, located in a strategic position in the heart of Dubai, close to the International Financial Centre, the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa and the airport. A project created by the prestigious Nikken Sekkei Japanese architecture studio, which fully captures the ambition, the innovation and the pioneering spirit of one of the most dynamic cities in the world. One Za'abeel is, in fact, unique in its kind as it is composed of two skyscrapers connected by a futuristic panoramic walkway, known as "The Link". The walkway designed "outside" the two towers extends for over 226 metres, suspended almost 100 metres above the ground over the motorway below. A visionary architectural work that pushes the limits of design and engineering. Inside, it houses exclusive restaurants, boutiques, wellness spaces, a spectacular infinity pool and a panoramic terrace. The complex offers a range of luxury services and amenities aimed at attracting an upscale international clientele.
In this context of excellence, Fiandre ceramic surfaces stand out for their beauty and versatility. In collaboration with the distributor partner Arteco Ceramics, Fiandre supplied the Calacatta Statuario ceramic surfaces from its Marble Lab collection for the interiors. These surfaces, characterised by a soft ivory-white colour crossed by light grey veins, have helped to create an atmosphere of refinement and aesthetic continuity in the tower’s reception area and lobby. The same shade was also used in the apartments, to define the floors, walls, shower trays and washbasin tops in the bathrooms. Fiandre has demonstrated its versatility, creating ad hoc processes, such as decor elements and leaf-shaped brass inlays that embellish the spaces with a touch of refinement.

In line with the UAE's goals of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, One Za'abeel meets the Gold LEED certification requirements. A vision of sustainability shared with the Iris Ceramica Group and with its Fiandre Architectural Surfaces brand. In fact, all the surfaces of the Group’s brands inmade-in-Italy technical ceramic have obtained the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver certification, issued by “The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute”, one of the most ambitious global standards for the creation of safe, circular and responsible products. The collaboration with Fiandre Architectural Surfaces and Arteco Ceramics has offered the One Za'abeel project an invaluable contribution in the use of high quality materials and innovative solutions, creating an extraordinary experience for its residents and visitors.
