In Cannes, architects Marianne Preveteau and Victor Perez and project manager Benoit Sgarbi chose the refined surface coverings of Fiandre Architectural Surfaces’ Marmi Maximum collection for a private villa. The rigour of contemporary style, underlined and enhanced by Fiandre surfaces, frames the beauty of the villa’s natural surroundings and dialogues with the enchanting views of the sea and the Azure Coast.

Refined Fiandre Architectural Surfaces for the iconic style of Villa Duna in Cannes

Villa Duna is a 600 square-metre private residence built in a raised position in Cannes with panoramic views over the sea and the fascinating Azure Coast.
This highly functional villa in contemporary style is a true dream house, with ample living spaces and fully six bedrooms and bathrooms as well as a series of wellness and relaxation facilities, such as an indoor pool and hamman, a fitness area with a gym and an outdoor pool that frames and mirrors the volume of the home while extending out toward the view.

The project was built by architects Marianne Preveteau + Victor Perez, with Benoit Sgarbi as project manager, responsible for the choice to use refined surfaces from Fiandre Architectural Surfaces’ Marmi Maximum collection for the floors and furnishings. All surface coverings were made using the innovative new 300x150 cm size of Maximum Fiandre Extralite® slabs in the colours Calacatta Light, featuring subtle light grey veining, and Pietra Grey, a brownish shade of slate with white veining, both with a glossy finish. The versatility of Fiandre materials made it possible to underline and emphasise the design solutions adopted by the architects, contributing to the elegance of the spaces and the refinement of the finishes. Examples include the staircases with steps assembled on-site at a 45° angle made of glossy Pietra Grey and a custom-made island kitchen incorporating Calacatta Light surfaces with a glossy finish, like a precious gemstone set in a simple space of iconic beauty. Other spaces such as the indoor pool aim to create the same timeless atmosphere. Walls covered with Calacatta Light, in the “bookmatched” version, and the little waterfalls filling the pool create striking reflections, setting off the timeless look of marble. The rigour of the villa’s contemporary style, underlined and enhanced by Fiandre surfaces, frames the beauty of the natural surroundings and dialogues with the enchanting views of the sea and the Azure Coast.
