Restaurants,

The Vudafieri - Saverino Partners studio has designed the projects for the two Paradiso restaurants ran by chefs Pierre Gagnaire and Nicole Rubi, built in Cannes and Abu Dhabi. The fil rouge that connects the two interior designs is the concept developed by the Italian architects, a tribute to Mediterranean culture and cinema.

In Cannes and Abu Dhabi architects Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino have signed the interior design of the "Paradiso" restaurants ran by French chefs Pierre Gagnaire and Nicole Rubi. The Italian architects have developed a concept that pays homage to Mediterranean culture and cinema, translating the two chefs’ cuisine into elements of architecture and design, linked to traditional Mediterranean specialties, both Italian and from the Nice area. The homage to cinema, on the other hand, is inspired by the position of the Paradiso Nicole & Pierre in Cannes, the first of the two restaurants designed by the Italian studio. The restaurant is in fact located inside the Hotel Barrière Le Majestic, an iconic Belle Époque building constructed in 1926 and located along the Promenade de la Croisette, opposite the Palais des Festivals where the famous Film Festival is held.

The interior designs of the two restaurants reflect the same concept and share certain choices. To transfer the soul of the Mediterranean to the interiors, the architects selected a palette of colours based on bright shades of green inspired by olive and sage leaves, as well as yellows and oranges that recall citrus fruits. An old map of the Mediterranean, reproduced on wallpaper with images of the iconic films shot in the places highlighted, becomes the key element that catches the customers' attention, openly establishing the link between the two restaurants. The bright environments feature a mix of natural materials such as the rattan used for the panels and chairs, refined ones such as velvet and silk, or recycled ones such as the plastic of the orange chandeliers designed and manufactured exclusively for the Paradiso restaurants. The interior is completed by a series of objects that narrate the artisan traditions of the Mediterranean, like the Sicilian ceramics created by Giacomo Alessi, unique pieces made and decorated by hand that recall various typical symbols and shapes, from fruit baskets to anthropomorphic vases.
