Exhibition of Eduardo Souto de Moura 1980-2015 in Hombroich The Insel Hombroich foundation, together with the German association of architects (BDA) has organised an exhibition of the works of Portuguese architect and winner of the 2011 Pritzker prize, Eduardo Souto de Moura, covering the period from 1980 to 2015.

The “Eduardo Souto de Moura 1980-2015” exhibition has opened in the Siza Pavilion in the Hombroich rocket station near Neuss in Germany.

The Insel Hombroich foundation, together with the German association of architects (BDA) organised the exhibition, working closely with the Portuguese architect on both the show and the catalogue.

“Eduardo Souto de Moura 1980-2015” uses models, sketches and photographs to explore how the 2011 Pritzker prize-winner has developed a contemporary language featuring strong local ties, in clear contrast with what is now widespread globalisation.
So, his buildings become virtuous examples for the development of contemporary and at the same time regional construction shapes, as we can see in the Siza Pavilion, which hosts the exhibition in the old Hombroich rocket station

The exhibition will continue until 23 August 2015 and could be a perfect reason to visit both the rocket station and the nearby Museumsinsel, the museum island, on the Rhine in Neuss, a magical combination of art, architecture and landscape.
