Cersaie, #floornaturelive at the Iris and FMG showroom in Fiorano During Cersaie 2014, Livegreenblog visited the IrisFMG showroom in Fiorano Modenese, which inaugurated its new outdoor spaces for the Show in Bologna. An urban plaza designed for participation.

We all know how much Livegreenblog likes urban plazas, places that people can participate in and spaces where they can just hang out with each other. All the more so if simple, spectacular elements are added, and urban settings and furnishings are created.

The new installation outside the IrisFMG showroom in Fiorano Modenese, designed by architect Massimo Iosa Ghini who is also responsible for the group stand at Cersaie 2014 as well as the showroom’s interior set-up, emerges from the need to connect interiors and exteriors and extend the showroom outdoors. A line of light – or “Linea di Luce”, the project’s name – symbolises this connection and takes visitors to the area that has been set up for events.

By using the large tiles in the XXL slab collection of IrisFMG, Iosa Ghini not only designed an iconic monolith but also an amphitheatre, where the press conference was held by the group's CEO, Federica Monizzi. The project is also enriched by informal seating, again made from porcelain stoneware, and other furnishings to encourage people to interact. The project sustainability is optimised by the use of low-energy consumption LED light sources.

The space outside the showroom, formerly the location for the awards ceremony of the Next Landmark 2014 (link video) and 2013 contest, is not only an additional showcase, it really extends all the possibilities to join in and get involved.
