Architecture on the Web at Bookcity Milano

The Floornature team headed by Paolo Schianchi will be guests at Bookcity Milano to present the book “Architecture on the Web. A critical approach to communication”.



On Friday 23 October at 6 pm in Via Durini 15, architect Paolo Schianchi, editor-in-chief of the international architecture portal, Floornature will be presenting his volume "Architecture on the Web". The team who worked on the book with the architect will also be participating: Agnese Bifulco from the “News” section, Mara Corradi from the “Projects” section and Christiane Bürklein, Livegreenblog blogger.





The event will be part of Bookcity Milano, an initiative of the Municipality of Milan and the Promotions Committee (Fondazione Rizzoli “Corriere della Sera”, Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, Fondazione Arnoldo e Alberto Mondadori, Fondazione Scuola per Librai Umberto e Elisabetta Mauri), which were joined by the association of Italian publishers (AIE), in collaboration with the associated Italian libraries (AIB) and the Italian bookshop association (ALI). The book trailer made by Mara Corradi and Roberto Ronchi will preface the presentation, and it will be a great opportunity to explore how the advent of the Internet has changed the world of communication, setting more store on images than on words. A shift of epic proportions, which not everyone has taken on board yet, but Paolo Schianchi explains in his book that once we know the real significance of images, we can use them ethically to improve the communication of architecture. 





In addition to the case studies focusing on the philosophy of the image through to building a news story, and a critical approach to personal branding by an architecture studio, the book also contains contributions by internationally renowned architects, critics and photographers like MVRDV, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Hans Ibelings and Ken Schluchtmann.
