The Maxxi in Rome and the Milan Triennale have both announced the winners of the third edition of the Italian Architecture Prize. The best building completed in the last three years is the renovation and extension project of the Cusanus Academy in Brixen by MoDus Architects, while Best Young Designer is Atelier Remoto with the Dandalò installation. The lifetime achievement award was given to Andrea Branzi.

MoDusArchitects presents new entrance and extension of the Novacella Abbey Museum.

On June 4, the museum of the Novacella Abbey was inaugurated, following the completion of the renovation works designed by MoDusArchitects, consisting of the new entrance and the extension to the museum complex. The architects had the challenging task of working with a highly heterogeneous structure, with elements dating back to the different architectural eras of the abbey and, thanks to the incisive work carried out, they were able to create a harmonious new space, with a view towards the future.

Following a design competition held in 2017, MoDusArchitects was appointed to renovate and expand Accademia Cusanus in Bressanone, Italy. The architects were asked to come up with a measured project that would leave the three existing buildings unaltered and create a new public space uniting the entire academic complex.

MoDusArchitects Mobility, Architecture and Landscape in infrastructure design

MoDusArchitects planned the expansion of the Bressanone-Varna ring road, including a sculptural new portal forming the gateway to the city of Bressanone, in the province of Bolzano. MoDusArchitects’ project reduces the volume of traffic at street level by creating an alternative route composed of interconnected roads which are largely underground, offering a model that might be replicated in similar projects in many other small towns.

MoDus Architects: artist residence and atelier in Castelrotto

Taking a new look at traditional Alpine architecture, MoDus Architects (Matteo Scagnol and Sandy Attia) have built a residence and atelier for artist Hubert Kostner in Castelrotto, in the province of Bolzano in Alto Adige. Designing a contemporary building with roots in the past, MoDus uses traditional materials in a contemporary way, innovating in the design of the home and workshop.
