Farewell to architect Ricardo Bofill
Architect Ricardo Bofill died in Barcelona on January 14, 2022 at the age of 82. He was one of Spain’s best-known architects, creator of such important projects as Parco Manzanares in Madrid or the National Theatre of Catalonia, works with a profound impact on the landscape such as the W Hotel in Barcelona, iconic constructions such as the Muralla Roja or La Fábrica, his own home and the headquarters of his studio, Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura.

Stefano Boeri Architects designs Trudo Vertical Forest, first Social Housing Vertical Forest in Eindhoven
Trudo Vertical Forest is the first social housing Vertical Forest in the world, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti and built in the Netherlands, in Eindhoven. Through a 3-episode documentary video, the architecture studio has narrated the design and construction of this 19-storey residential tower housing 135 trees and 10,000 smaller shrubs and plants, all distributed on the four façades.

World Habitat Awards 2021, the winning projects
The World Habitat Awards, originally founded in 1985 and organised by World Habitat in collaboration with UN-Habitat, are the most prestigious award in the housing sector. The 2021 Gold Award winners are the Introducing Community Land Trusts in Continental Europe project (Belgium) and the Housing Monitor project (Lebanon).
