Zaha Hadid Architects will build the Hangzhou International Sports Centre
Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) recently won the design competition for the new international sports centre in Hangzhou, China. The new facility will include a football stadium, an indoor arena, an aquatic centre, a river park and a series of public squares. A project with a strong focus on sustainability and biodiversity, including the creation of natural wetlands to help drain rainwater.

lialawlab designs FUNFUN GALLERY in Hangzhou

From steel mill to photographer’s studio, by TRI-ORANGE DESIGN
In Hangzhou’s Binjiang district, Chinese architectural practice TRI-ORANGE DESIGN converted an old stainless steel factory into Moments Photography Base, concerned with the production of images for web customers. The industrial building with its patina formed by the passage of time allowed the architects to create a truly fascinating place.

The BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group has designed an iconic new building in Hangzhou. The building is the new headquarters of OPPO’s R&D division, a leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer. The new building will symbolise the perfect balance between refined aesthetics and innovative technology characterising the company’s products and will become the gateway to the Future Sci-Tech City of Hangzhou, a district born from the collaboration between the local administration and the e-commerce giant Alibaba.
