Richard Meier, Mitikah Office Tower
Richard Meier?s skyscraper has a precise role to play in the masterplan for Mexico City planned by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and developed by IDEURBAN/ IDCity.

The tower will occupy the southwest corner in a plan including commercial spaces and low-rise residential buildings. The role of Meier?s skyscraper in this plan is mediation between the commercial centre and the nearby residential area.

The building?s 34 floors will contain a hotel, apartments, a conference hall, a restaurant and a sky-bar, all due to be completed in 2013-2014.
When presenting the plans for the Mitikah Office Tower, Richard Meier emphasised that architecture is a continuum and even new buildings have strong links with local history; his project is in fact heavily influenced by the forms of Aztec culture.
