The winners of the three prizes awarded annually by RIBA (The Royal Institute of British Architects) were announced on October 6: the RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize went to Tsuruta Architects’ House of Trace; the RIBA Client of the Year went to Westmorland Limited, the client nominated by Glenn Howells Architects for the Gloucester Services project, and lastly, the RIBA Stirling Prize.

The Riba Stirling Prize is the most important award for architecture presented in the UK. The 21st award was assigned to the Newport Street Gallery by Caruso St John's. We look back at Floornature’s coverage of some of the projects that have won the prize in the past.
Starting with the 2010 and 2011 editions, which went to two projects (the Maxxi in Rome and the Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton) by Zaha Hadid Architects; and Patrik Schumacher, partner and director of the practice founded by the late Zaha Hadid, chaired the jury of the 21st RIBA Stirling Prize.
Going back to the past, the most recent winners were Witherford Watson Mann Architects in 2013 for their renovation of Astley Castle in Warwickshire and Haworth Tompkins for the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool in 2014. In 2015, the twentieth Riba Stirling Prize was presented to Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) for the Burntwood School in London.
