An exhibition of the permanent MAXXI Architecture collection, 80 models by 60 different designers, a journey through Italian architecture of the 20th and 21st centuries.



MODELLI/MODELS
The exhibition currently running at the MAXXI Architettura until April 2013, enables visitors to travel through the history of Italian architecture from the 20th century to the present, starting with a model of the Foro Italico sports complex by Enrico Del Dubbio right through to a porcelain bas-relief of the new Italian Space Agency designed by architecture firm 5+1 AA, Alfonso Femia and Gianluca Peluffo.

Featuring 80 models by 60 different designers, created using different techniques and materials. Architecture or competition models, works constructed or simply designed, like the plastic models by the project finalists for construction of the Maxxi by the architects: Rem Koolhaas, Jean Nouvel, Vittorio Gregotti, Steven Holl, Eduardo Souto De Moura, Kazuyo Sejima.

The exhibition is enriched by video contributions of important architects of the 20th and 21st centuries as well as a specific section devoted to the theme of virtual models, with a presentation of masterpieces byPierluigi Nervi.
