“Responsible ” architecture as a tool for responding to the pressing demand for sustainable development that takes into account the environmental, social and cultural needs of the "emerging countries" will be the topic addressed at the "New architectures" convention. Moderated by Fulvio Irace, the convention will include presentations by architects who have made social commitment the defining feature of their careers and architects who have sought to respond to the needs of their countries of origin with concrete projects, such as Diébédo Francis Kéré, who won the Aga Khan Award for the school building built in his native village in Burkina Faso, or Indian architect Bijoy Jain, who designed the Palmyra House in Mumbai and was awarded the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture in 2009.
