“Design and innovation: digital technologies and the territory” is the theme of the second edition of Brera Design Days, which from 6th – 12th October enriches the cultural offer of this famous area of Milan. Meetings, exhibitions and events will alternative in prestigious spaces, including the showrooms of important international design brands like Ariostea, an Iris Ceramica Group brand.
On 9th October the Ariostea showroom in Corso Garibaldi 2, Milan, will host a talk by Alessandro Masserdotti, philosopher and interaction designer, entitled " Innovation and Design, how design changes with new production technologies and an open-source philosophy".
The talk is motivated by a realisation that we are at an important moment of transformation in the profession. Recent prototyping and production technologies and partnerships in various research and design fields have undeniable cultural and social spin-offs. As in the past, designers are the main intermediaries between technology and creativity, and their job is to interpret change and develop it for the maximum benefit of society. This theme fits well with the philosophy of the Iris Ceramica Group , one of whose fundamental tenets is innovation, which can be seen in the Ariostea collection and particularly in theUltra Range.
Ultra is an excellent manufactured product that is technically avant-garde: large porcelain slabs (300x150 cm / 300x100 cm) just 6 mm thick for floors and coverings with special effects, from the pure elegance of stone to marble textures and solutions inspired by industrial metals or wood effects.
